Louth County Council Library Service is inviting people across the county to take part in a public consultation to help shape its new Development Programme for 2026-2030.
The five-year programme will guide the future of library services in Louth, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of communities across the county.
The consultation runs from 12th January to 20th March, and everyone is encouraged to share their views by completing an online survey or by attending one of a series of focus groups which will be held across the county.
The feedback gathered will inform priorities for library services, facilities, and programmes over the next five years.
Amanda Branigan, County Librarian and Head of Cultural Services at Louth County Council, said: “Our new, five-year Library Development Programme is all about creating spaces, services, and opportunities that truly meet the needs of people in Louth.
“Libraries are at the heart of our communities, and this is a chance for the public to tell us what matters most – whether it’s new technology, community events, or somewhere to read, learn and be creative.
“We would encourage everyone to get involved, have their say and help us build a library service for everyone.”
The online consultation runs until 20th March. Further information is available from each of the five Louth County Council libraries in Ardee, Carlingford, Drogheda, Dundalk and Dunleer, or by emailing libraryhelpdesk@louthcoco.ie
