Dundalk Chamber members continued their series of business visits with a trip to the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE) — a national, state-of-the-art facility located in Dundalk and operated by the Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB).
The AMTCE provides cutting-edge training in areas such as data analytics, Industry 4.0, robotics, 3D printing, alternative construction, welding, and more. During the visit, members were given a comprehensive overview of the facility’s advanced equipment and its training programs, all designed to support Irish businesses in embracing technological innovation.
Our hosts, Gerard Smith, Aoife McDaid, and Anne Gallagher, extended a warm welcome. Members were particularly impressed by the knowledge and clarity of the various presenters, who shared insights into their specialised fields.
Gerard Smith summed up the AMTCE’s mission with a clear and simple message: “Please ask us if we can help — that’s our core philosophy.”
On behalf of the Chamber, Paddy Malone expressed sincere thanks to the AMTCE team. He emphasized the strong and ongoing relationship between the Chamber and LMETB, referencing his own involvement with the LMETB Finance Board. Paddy praised Gerard and his team for consistently going “the extra mile to support the region’s businesses.” He encouraged any business interested in embracing technology to connect with the AMTCE.
Notably, several members stayed on after the tour for further one-to-one discussions — a testament to the high level of engagement and interest generated by the visit.
