We took the opportunity to brief Ciaran on the joint submission of the three Chambers, Drogheda, Dundalk Newry to the National Development Plan. Paddy explained the work that had been done on this for the last 8 years. John expressed our concern on the infrastructural deficiencies which will impede the area achieve its full potential. These would include local transport, housing and waste water.

Ciaran recalled the day of Brexit and the concern at that time. He asked if the Windsor agreement had helped and we indicated  that our feedback from members was that it had alleviated the issue.

We discussed the M1 Corridor and the broader Dublin Belfast Economic Corridor. Ciaran indicated that he would support both concepts. He also advised us on areas we should plan for, including the upcoming Irish Presidential term in 2026.
