An Táin Arts Centre Productions invites audiences of all ages to embark on an unforgettable adventure with Goldilocks and the 3 Planets, an outdoor promenade production taking place in the stunning grounds of Anaverna House, Ravensdale, from Wednesday 5th – Saturday 9th August, with shows at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm Daily, plus a 7pm show on Saturday 8th only.
Goldilocks and the 3 Planets re-imagines the much-loved fairytale with a twist, as Goldilocks is sent on an extraordinary mission to find a brand-new home for humankind. Earth is getting a little too hot, so using her expert exploring skills, she sets off in search of a planet that’s not too hot, not too cold, but juuuust right. Things don’t go quite to plan, however, and when Baby Bear and a very peculiar tree insist on coming along for the ride, tempers fray and the journey spirals delightfully out of control. Goldilocks must figure out what ‘just right’ really means, and whether a perfect planet is something you find, or something you take care of.
Written by writer, actor and environmental activist, Ceara Carney, the production explores environmental themes in a joyful and heartfelt theatre experience designed for audiences aged 4+. Performed as an outdoor promenade production, audiences will journey through the picturesque grounds of Anaverna House alongside the characters, becoming part of the adventure as the story unfolds around them. The production stars Ceara Carney as Goldilocks, Leah Rossiter as Ellie/Poley, Fiona Keenan O’Brien as Baby Bear and Mark O’ Reilly as Trees.
Director of An Táin Arts Centre, Paul Hayes, says “I’m delighted to once again be directing our annual summer show in Anaverna. It has been a joy working with the writer Ceara Carney on the script. I can’t wait to get into the rehearsal room.”
Packed with laughter, music, larger-than-life characters and plenty of heart, Goldilocks and the 3 Planets promises a magical summer outing for families, encouraging young audiences to think about friendship, teamwork and caring for the world around us.
