The Annual Dundalk Chamber Golf Classic took place in the beautiful surroundings of Dundalk Golf Club, Blackrock, on Friday 29th August.
A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all at the Chamber Golf Classic, which continues to be one of the longest established and most popular golf classics in the North East region.
The event was once again proudly sponsored by Servisource, who this year are celebrating their 25th anniversary in business. The sponsorship provided generous prizes, goody bags and raffle gifts, helping to make the day an outstanding success.
The traditional delicious barbecue was enjoyed by players at the ninth hole, kindly sponsored by McArdle Meats, offering an opportunity for teams to refuel and catch up before completing the course. Value Centre Cash & Carry donated the water, chocolate and ice cream keeping the players refreshed on the day while Fyffes donated Bananas for all the players.
Guests also enjoyed a three-course dinner in the clubhouse, followed by prize presentations and an evening raffle which added to the excitement and entertainment of the day.
As always, the competition was strong, and the results were as follows:
Team Prizes
- 1st Prize – won by Louth Leader team with 92 points and players were Josh Mackin, Jordan Mackin, Eamonn Neary and David Clegg.
- 2nd Prize – won by Matthew Algie team with 91 points and players were Mark McCumiskey, Tony Cluskey, Tom Hardiman and David Osborne.
- 3rd Prize – won by Cathedral Financial Planning with 91 points and players were Cormac Malone, Paul Mellon, Darren Keough and Robbie Rafferty.
- 4th Prize – won by Servisource Team 2 with 91 points and players were James McGeown, Paudie McEneaney, Luke McGeown and Pauric Brennan.
- 5th Prize – won by Uniquely with 89 points and players were Tim O Donoghue, Ger Teahon, John Morrisson and Ronan Power.
- 6th Prize – won by National Tile with 88 points were players Graham Purcell, Jarlaith Purcell, Joe Keenan and Mark Coan
Individual Competitions
- Nearest the Pin Gents was won by Conor McCleneghan.
- Longest Drive Ladies was won by Mary McDonnell.
- Longest Drive Gents was won by Ruairi O Neill of Senator Windows.
Servisource also added to the celebrations by sponsoring a €1,000 Rosapenna Golf Resort, along with exciting raffle prizes, including two tickets to see comedian John Bishop live at the 3Arena on October 30th, and provided goody bags for the teams.
The winning team Louth Leader won the Rosapenna Golf Resort Voucher.
The winner of the tickets for John Bishop were won by Allison Cooney.
The winner of the Gas Barbeque sponsored by FloGas was won by Andy Cofery.

The event was also the first Golf Classic under the leadership of John McGahon, newly appointed CEO of Dundalk Chamber, who congratulated all the teams and thanked participants, sponsors, and Dundalk Golf Club for making the day a resounding success.
