Advocacy

We advocate on behalf of causes for our Members

Sustainability

In September 2019, to mark the fourth anniversary of the launch, Chambers Ireland and ICC Ireland, together with our nationwide Network of affiliated Chambers, unanimously pledged to support the Goals. Since then, we have worked with our Chamber Network and our Sustainable Business Council to help to educate the 8,000 businesses they represent about the SDGs. Our aim in highlighting the SDGs is to realise the opportunities they create, provide companies with the confidence that meaningful results can be readily achieved and promote how they will positively impact businesses, communities, and livelihoods.

Lobbying

Dundalk Chamber has continued to be the voice of business in the region. One of the core functions of the Chamber is to represent local businesses on a Regional and National level. By actively engaging with our members, we know the issues and challenges facing businesses in Dundalk and use our reputation, influence, expertise and experience to deliver a positive change for Dundalk business.

The Chamber is also involved in many forums and joint committees with local authorities and development agencies to ensure real representation in decision making and building strong working partnerships. Membership of the Chamber makes you part of that support network and allows us to work for you by supporting you and your business. We listen to businesses and lobby issues on their behalf. We promote the importance of Dundalk's location on the M1 Corridor and local, national and international level. The Dundalk Chamber is here to create, support, maintain and promote a positive environment for business in Dundalk and the region, by encouraging a strong, unified business community.

Volunteering

Louth Volunteer Centre has been running for 20 years.  They support local events and festivals or one-off needs like community response.  There are so many ways for individuals or organisations to get involved that will suit everyone.  You can register on their website at www.volunteerlouth.ie and search opportunities.

More and more businesses in Ireland are recognising the value of encouraging staff to give back through volunteering. Whether it's supporting local charities, mentoring, or taking part in community clean-ups, having a volunteering policy in place ensures consistency, clarity, and fairness across your organisation. While fundraising is often done in businesses for local charity, it is distinct from volunteering, and meaningful volunteering should address an identified need in the community. This document outlines the key benefits of putting a volunteering policy in place, and the main considerations to keep in mind when doing so.
