Free Brexit business webinars to be launched

Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with InterTradeIreland and Louth County Council’s Local Enterprise Office, has organised a series of events to raise business awareness of the need to prepare for the end of the Brexit transition period.

Working together, InterTradeIreland and the Local Enterprise Office Louth, Dundalk Chamber are running three webinars to help businesses understand the changes that might come into effect for their business from 1st January.
The webinars will focus on Brexit and “what happens next” with a focus on customs, logistics and services.
The first of the webinars is on Wednesday the 11th November at 11am to 12 noon via zoom and will focus on customs.

Speaking on the need for businesses to refocus on Brexit, Paddy Malone PRO of Dundalk Chamber said, “Companies must prepare for Brexit and a worst-case scenario”.

Thomas McEvoy of Local Enterprise Office Louth said that “Many of the greatest challenges posed by Brexit are quite invisible, but they will have impacts on local businesses. Any owner managers with questions around Brexit should register for this Brexit series, and if they have specific concerns, they can get in touch with our office so we can assist them.”

Aidan Gough, InterTrade Ireland’s Designated Officer said: “Britain’s exit from the European Union will change the basis on which trade takes place between the two blocs and between Northern Ireland and Ireland. It is vital that businesses are ready to adjust to the new arrangements as they impact on their sector, so that cross-border trade continues to grow and provide dividends to thousands of firms and the wider economy”.
