Freda Hearty and the Dance Kids have once again exceeded expectations and delighted audiences with their show ‘Anything Goes’. The talented Dance Kids aged from just four years danced and sang their hearts out last weekend when ‘Anything Goes’ took to An Tàin Theatre stage and brought the house down;with delighted audiences declaring it “the best show yet”.

With two packed shows, enchanted audiences were whisked over the rooftops into the practically perfect world of Mary Poppins, where they were entertained by the antics of Jane and Michael, Bert and the chimney sweeps. The tiny tots got the biggest cheer of the night when they took to the stage to perform to songs from The Muppets. Afterwards the audience were delighted with songs from ‘Teen Beach Movie’, ‘Olly Murs’, ‘Wicked’ and ‘Calamity Jane’ to name just a few.
The night of entertainment also included a trip down memory lane to the ‘School around the Corner’ where naughty Dance Kid Daddies David Minto, Tony Dolan and Niall Farrelly got up to mischief in Miss Culligans classroom. Followed by many school favourites such as ‘Schools Out For Summer’, ‘Another Brick In The Wall’ and ‘Revolting Children’ from the hit musical ‘Matilda’.
After six months of hard work and two show-stopping performances from the Dance Kids, an exhausted but delighted Freda Hearty said “I am absolutely thrilled with how well the shows turned out, the feedback we have received has been overwhelming. It’s all about having fun and we had so much fun during ‘Anything Goes’, we can’t wait for our Christmas show already. I would like to thank all the Dance Kids and their families, who are always so supportive.”
Preparations are now underway for the Dance Kids annual Christmas show, which will take place in An Tàin Theatre in December. New members are always welcome at Dance Kids classes, for further information contact Freda Hearty on 042-9339797. They create an excellent opportunity for children to grow in confidence, perform on stage, become active, make friends and most importantly have fun!
The Dance Kids also have two exciting summer camps planned, which take place in Kilkerly Community Centre from the 14th – 18th of July and in Inniskeen from the 28th of July until the 1st of August.
Participants will take part in a number of exciting activities such as dance, costume making, singing, drama, sports, arts and craft and much more. The summer camp is open to children of all ages and limited places are now available. Contact Katie on 0830090297 for more information.
