Louth County Enterprise Fund

Louth County Enterprise Fund (The Fund) was established in 1989 by the International Fund for Ireland, supported by donations from many Louth-based businesses. It provides loan finance of up to €50,000 to entrepreneurs and established business in the County. These funds can be used to finance working capital, capital expenditure, promotion and advertising, web development, stock purchase and salary costs.

It is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee. Its twelve directors are drawn from privately-owned businesses and public sector organisations, all based in County Louth. The company is also a Registered Charity.

Applications are considered from most business sectors. The applicants can be sole traders, partnerships, limited companies or community groups.

The loan term is 3 to 5 years. The interest rate is typically 7%. The Fund does not charge application fees and there are no penalties associated with the early repayment of loans.
