Dundalk Chamber of Commerce is planning to host a Christmas Charity lunch which will take place on Friday the 13th December at 1pm in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk. The theme of the lunch is for Local businesses to re-connect with the community. This will be our second year to host this event and last years lunch attracted over 200 guests. Money raised from last years lunch was donated to three main charities and also gave one deserving child a free trip to Euro Disney worth 2000.
Travis Foley from the Redeemer School was selected last year
and had a fantastic time in Euro Disney.
All those attending the lunch this year are being asked to take an unwrapped toy with them to create a toy mountain at the event and these new toys will be collected and donated to St. Bridget’s School and other local charities.
During the event we are also planning to make a special award to one child and their family, for whom a Special Award case has been made in relation to their battle with a particular challenge, physical or otherwise. This will be in the form of a 2000 Euro voucher for a trip to Euro Disney for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and is always with the prior knowledge and consent of the parents, but as a surprise for the child.
If you know a child who may be worthy of such an opportunity, please send a short precise letter (approx. 150 words) to the Treasurer, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, Unit 4, Partnership Court, Park St. Dundalk in support of the child/ family whom you would like to nominate. You can also email to Brenda@dundalk.ie
We would ask that you respond by Friday 7th November 2013.
Please note that we do not promise any success with your nomination as places are limited. We would therefore suggest that you do not raise any hope with the family at this stage.
