This year the St Patrick’s Day parade will start at 1pm sharp on Tuesday 17th March and there is a change in route this year we will be starting at Carroll Village Shopping Centre Car Park.
As you all know at this stage, Stephen Kenny, Dundalk FC manager will be this year’s Grand Marshal and we are delighted to have Horseware Products Ltd and Moffett’s Engineering as two of our main sponsors. Both of our sponsors are celebrating anniversaries this year, Horseware are 30 years old and Moffett Engineering are 70 years old. As always we are supported by Louth County Council, Dundalk Chamber and Dundalk Bids.
The Long Walk Shopping Centre has also sponsored this year the two signature floats that we have hired from Bui Bolg. Kilkerley National School & Kilkerley Brownies have joined forces and will be working together to enhance one of the signature piece as a parade entry. The second piece is will be used in the parade by M.A.D Youth Theatre who are very busy as they are also putting on a play ‘Remote’ in an Tain Arts Centre on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th March.
This year there is a Family Fun Zone which will be taking place on the Market Square/Earl Street. The Zone is sponsored by Pelican Promotions. There is a unlimited ticket costing €5 and €12 unlimited family ticket (3 Children). There will also be some musical entertainment from Dundalk Brass Band.
The St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will kick off this weekend with music, family entertainment and much more. Check out http://www.antain.ie, http://www.spiritstore.ie and https://www.dundalk.ie for more details on events for the weekend before and after Paddy’s Day and of course on the day itself.
