Dundalk parade committee aim to surpass last years "Personal Best" of 30'000 spectators. 2010 see's bigger plans and the involvement of DKIT students in the organisation of the parade brings a more innovatitive approach to the celebrations. The theme for this years parade "Sport and Culture" and it will be held on Wednesday 17th of March 2010 commencing at 1pm. Dundalk is known as the land of legends is set to live up to its title, encouraging participants to highlight past and present events within the community that have impacted on "Irish Culture". Sport is a major asset to the town and has the potential to become one of the main generators of tourism in Co. Louth. The committee are calling on the sporting community to participate in this years parade. Although times are tough and resources are tight, it is during these times when creativity will flow and communities pull together. It is a great opportunity for local businesses to benefit from the parade, given last years turnout, and they are encouraged to keep their doors open for business during the day. As always donations and sponsorship are welcomed and are essential for the future of the parade in Dundalk. Entertainment within the town centre will be the best yet, with live bands, childrens entertainment, street performers and street traders.
