Town Centre Improvement/Retail/Infrastructure Group

Chairman: Frank Pentony – Town Clerk, Dundalk Town Council

This group is responsible for improvements to Dundalk’s infrastructure, shopping environment and general appearance.  A number of improvements to the infrastructure and image of the town are currently being mooted – all with an emphasis on greatly enhancing the heart of the town.  There are ongoing improvements to make the town more attractive and evidence of the town’s pride in the environment has been shown by our recent awards.  Dundalk won the Silver Medal at the National Tidy Towns Awards but the town was declared Ireland’s cleanest in the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL) annual litter league.  This group is getting the message out that Dundalk is very much open for business and as a result a number of investors and developers have expressed an interest in partnering the local authorities in providing Dundalk with first class housing, infrastructure and facilities.
