E-mail Print PDF

InterTradeIreland have developed a network of some of the island’s most successful entrepreneurs with the objective of using their skills and expertise to assist growth companies.  These entrepreneurs have agreed to dedicate some of their time to help businesses like yours.  The support from the entrepreneurs involves hosting masterclasses with small groups of companies including one to one sessions and follow up support.  Our hosts on this occasion will be John Flahavan, Chairman of Flahavans and Jim Barry, Managing Director, The Barry Group.

John Flahavan is the sixth generation of Flahavans to run the porridge oatlets company of the same name and in recent years he has led it to impressive exporting success. Flahavan’s is very much a traditional food company. There has been a mill at Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford where the business is still located since the late 1700s. John Flahavan is Chairman and has been involved in the company since 1972.

Jim Barry.  In business for over 50 years, Barry Group is one of Ireland's leading wholesale and distribution groups and a hugely trusted name among customers and retailers for the great value and exemplary service it delivers.  Originally founded by James A. Barry in 1955 selling fruit & vegetable in the North Cork area, the company has continually grown and developed over the years and now trades prominently on a national basis supplying product to over 700 stores including 237 affiliated stores in the Republic of Ireland.

The first part of the day will involve group discussions and include a brief overview by each participant company.  Issues covered in this session will be decided by the companies attending.  The afternoon sessions will focus on one to one sessions with the hosts.  Each individual company will avail of a one to one session with one of the host entrepreneurs.  The session will conclude in the afternoon with each participant company giving a brief overview of follow up actions agreed with the hosts.

*Places on the masterclass are limited to 8-10 attendees and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  Please let us know by 25th February if you wish to attend.

*Note that there is NO CHARGE to attend the masterclass.
